Last night I had an epiphany during my evening prayer. I thanked God for how He had blessed me over the past weeks with my degree and with all the blessings He had bestowed on me. Then, my prayer turned to the new topical study we are beginning with my small group tomorrow. I prayed that I wanted God to make the material we would review resonate with the men who are attending our group.

That is when the name “Resonate” started to build itself in my mind. You see, a tuning fork establishes the right sound, and all other items are to follow. I thought, “If I can make this material resonate with the men, it will start changing their behaviors.” Next, my thoughts went to how a sound works, a tuning that makes a sound, and all other sounds in a group copy that sound until all the instruments play the right chord. That is what God’s Word needs to do! It is brought from the Bible, played through a pastor or speaker, and then the others pick up the sound until it spreads.

I am not sure if God wants me to build a church or a para-church organization, but I feel confident that whatever He wants me to do, it should be called “Resonate.” I am unsure if that means it will be “Resonate Church,” “Resonate Ministries,” or whatever. Yet, I feel confident that this is what it must be called. If I plant a church, it will be called “Resonate Church,” or if I am doing a ministry organization, it will be “Resonate Ministries.” I might have to explain that it is not a musical organization, but since I also love music, it seems fit to combine my two loves.

That’s all I have for now, but it’s a start. I decided to be proactive and now own resonateministry.com and resonate-ministry.org. I am not sure what God will have me do with them, but they are there.
